We Had A Sub For Half The Day. It Was A Living Hell - May 31, 1992

Day: May 31  Date:

I haven't written in hear for a long time. **** and I are still going together! This is really cool! Friday, we had a sub for half the day. It was a living hell. We missed 10 minutes of our lunch, we missed our recess, in the volleyball game, we couldn't talk at all. She took away a couple of kid's funday away. She was a real bitch! Everybody acted horribly. The 10 minutes we missed from our lunch was because Mr. Principal was giving us a lecture! Boring! But the part that will be the worst is tomorrow! I have no idea how Mrs. Teacher is going to react! It'll be horrible.

On Saturday, we left early in the morning and left for Hutchinson, Kansas. We saw the Space Museum, an Ominax show, a planetarium thing that was so stupid, I was about to die! We spent the night in a motel. That was fun.

Something

Everytime someone says **** I get really weird feeling. It's like I'm embarrased and I can't explain it. In my yearbook all I do is stare at ****'s basketball picture. The reason why I look at that one is because he looks better in that picture than his class picture. I want to kiss him so bad but I don't know when I could. Speaking about yearbooks, **** signed mine. He wrote "love, ****." I thought that very sweet of him. I could go on and on, but I can't. I wrote 3 and 1/3 pages.

Holy cow, that was a long one. So much to dissect. I believe that dangling La at the end was the beginning of "Later."

**** and I have been "going out" for over a month now. What does that really mean? We went on zero dates. We went to each others' houses zero times. We kissed zero times. All I know for a fact is we couple skated once. I have memories of holding his hand at the Boys and Girls club, but beyond the declaration that "We are going out with each other," there wasn't much to this relationship. However, I still thought it was "really cool!" How cute and age-appropriate.

It amuses me that my reaction to the sub is "she's a real bitch" when I plainly admit in the next sentence that we were acting horribly. Sounds like we deserved it. Poor substitute teacher! The stuff about the principal's lecture and fearing our regular teacher's reaction makes me laugh. There's no sense of remorse...just dread. Kids...

Here are a few pictures from our trip to the space museum in Hutchinson, KS.  My mom, bro and I went with my uncle and two of my cousins. Ominax = Omnimax. I had the opportunity to visit the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center again in August 2010. It's a very good museum and an easy day trip from the Kansas City area. They have the Apollo 13 command module, Odyssey, among many other unique artifacts.

The Cosmosphere has a lot to offer

Oh, look! A teepee!

That's all he wrote in my yearbook? He wasn't a man of many words, was he? I'm checking my yearbook right now, and yep, there it is. In hot pink ink like most of the other signatures. Other messages include: "Stay smart," "Stay real cool this summer," "Kiss my butt," and "To a real cutie - have a fun summer." That last one was from my gym teacher.

Here are the 5th grade boys basketball pictures. One of these 16 boys is ****.

Is he on this team?

Or this one?

  3. I believe I was referring to our end-of-year field day. Ice cream, relays, games, and a kick ass water slide. Possibly other exciting activities, but that's what I remember.
